Sony announces Annual Fan Event – SOE LIVE

Sony Online Entertainment announced a name change to it’s annual fan event. It will now be called SOE LIVE (Sony Online Entertainment LIVE) and will be held at Bally’s in Las Vegas starting 18th October through 21st October.

SOE LIVE is set to be the ultimate gathering for the SOE Community and will celebrate fan favorite games including DC Universe Online, EverQuest II, Free Realms, PlanetSide 2 and so on.

Talking about the name change, Laura Naviaux, Sony’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales said, “The ‘SOE Live’ name change represents a deeper meaning behind our annual event. As our game portfolio continues to expand, we wanted to better represent our diverse player base and games, including the newest additions to the SOE family, with DC Universe Online, Free Realms, Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures, and the highly anticipated PlanetSide 2.”

“Previous event attendees can rest assured that we are not removing any of our established activities in order to accommodate the new players; rather, they can expect even more to make this the ultimate SOE fan experience,” she added.

Sony wants to use SOE Live as a platform to reflect their belief that all SOE players are part of an extended family, and provide an opportunity for fans from all age groups to meet talented people behind successful games. SOE will also play host to developer panel discussions, games-themed live events, social events and a chance for attendees to voice their opinion about existing and upcoming game content.
