EA unveils Crysis 3, Release Dated

Electronic Arts has unveiled Crysis 3 and has announced that the game will be out next year for the XBox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows sometime spring 2013. Crytek and EA will unveil the trailer for the game next week.

Running on the multiple award winning CryENGINE, the game is set in the year 2047 and players step into the shoes of Prophet who’s returned to New York only to discover that the city is now covered by a Nanodome crafted by the corrupt Cell Corporation. While residents were fooled into believing that Cell Corporation built the Nanodome for protection, Prophet discovers that this is the company’s attempt at Global Domination.

Crysis 3′s Liberty Dome includes seven zones, dubbed the seven wonders, rat with overgrown trees, dense swamps and rivers. Prophet gets a “lethal” composite bow, enhanced nanosuit and some “devastating” alien tech to battle enemies and the cruel environment.

“New York City lies in ruin. Skyscrapers once thought to be timeless monuments crumble and give way to vines. Clamoring streets that filled with rush-hour traffic now host the banks of a river. An underground system designed to support millions has rotted into caverns as deep and dark as anywhere on Earth. A nanodome looms overhead, keeping the eye of the outside world out and an untold danger in. This is where you strike.”

“Nature has reclaimed what was once the world’s most iconic city and you’ll have to adapt if you want to survive. Stalk your prey through a shadowy 5th avenue rainforest or wade waist-high through an urban swamp. Cover ground quickly over the midtown grasslands or seek cover in a deep, etched Wall Street canyon. You’ll need to plan for any situation in the wreckage of the city. With the dome overhead and alien technology on the loose there’s no telling what challenges you’ll face. So, you better be ready to use every situation and environment to your advantage, because you won’t get a second chance. It’s a jungle out there,” explains title developer Crytek.

“Crysis 3 is a thrilling mix of sandbox gameplay, advanced combat and hi-tech human and alien weaponry that shooter fans will love,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO of game developer Crytek. “Leveraging the latest CryENGINE technology, we’re able to deliver seven unique themes that offer stunning and visually loaded gameplay experiences. We cannot wait until people get their hands on the game.”

EA has opened pre-orders for the game on Origin.com and a host of retailers for $59.99. Dubbed the Hunter Edition, the pre-order pack will give players early access to the new Composite Bow and it’s custom attachments, a Hunted Nanosuit module adding powers and more functionality to the suit, a boost to level 5, a unique skin for the bow and exclusive dog-tags when the game gets released.

• Stalker Pack: Base game, all Hunter Edition content and the following early multiplayer unlocks: for players who like to stalk their prey from the shadows the Stalker Pack provides early multiplayer access to the deadly semi-auto Jackal shotgun. • Overkill Pack: Base game, all Hunter Edition content and the following early multiplayer unlocks: the Overkill Pack features early multiplayer access to the Typhoon assault weapon and skin. Spewing 500 rounds a second, the Typhoon gives players the ability to go guns blazing to take back the Liberty Dome. Also included are two exclusive Overkill themed in-game dog tags.

With an extremely fast rate of fire and a 60 round magazine the Feline is highly effective and deadly, at short range.
