Dead Island Sequel Has Been Announced

Deep Silver, the publisher behind the first-person survival horror/action role-playing game Dead Island, announced today that the development of a sequel for the franchise is underway. The title of the sequel has been revealed to be Dead Island Riptide and is currently in full development by Techland for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. More details and trailers related to the game are speculated to release within the summer season.

The Dead Island franchise has drawn inspiration from the critically acclaimed Left 4 Dead series, and has been worked upon to include a varied amount of RPG elements to keep the action fresh for a long time. The release date for Dead Island Riptide is yet to be made official.
