Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition releasing September 2012

Developer Overhaul Games has announced that the Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will release this September 2012 for Windows alongside an OSX and an iPad version. The game is also releasing on the Android platform however, no release date has been mentioned yet.

The new Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition includes 3 new characters: Rasaad yn Bashir, Neera the Wild Mage and Dorn Il-Khan.

The game is also to feature a new area called the Black Pits allowing players to create a full party and participate in 15 “hellish battles” to escape.

Apart from all of this, the Enhanced Edition comes with 400 improvements over the original Baldur’s Gate adding an enhanced user interface, improved multiplayer, new cinematics among a host of other new features. The developer has promised to offer improvements post-release and support the “vibrant” mod community.
