Nintendo Wii U to miss Europe Launch Date, pushed to December

Nintendo’s new console, the Wii U is apparently facing manufacturing battles that may hamper the intended launch date across Europe. Apparently, this will not affect the US release date which is expected to be sometime before Thanksgiving.

Sources close to the website CVG have pointed out the key cause of the delay to be the manufacturing of the Gamepad that is bundled with the Wii U. This keypad is a innovative wireless controller sporting a 6.2″ touchscreen display, a front facing camera, NFC and motion sensing technology in addition to being powered by it’s own power source.

Nintendo has apparently declined to comment however, the company is pretty sure that they will meet the intended deadline of releasing the console by Thanksgiving day in the US.

It’ll be very important for Nintendo to follow up on their success they’ve had with the Wii. Nintendo, after all they’ve been through the last year, need to have the console out before the massive purchase season of Thanksgiving begins in the US.
